BrightTails sells equipment for the walk you actually take — the wet Tuesday one, in the dark, with a dog who has found something disgusting.

We sell few things, on purpose

Most pet shops carry ten versions of the same object and let you work out which one is not rubbish. That is a job we would rather do ourselves. We would rather carry one dog water bottle we are prepared to argue for than forty we are not.

So the range here is small and it will grow slowly. Everything we add has to earn it.

What has to be true before we list something

  • It has to solve a real problem on a real walk. Not a problem invented by a marketing team.
  • It has to work one-handed. Your other hand has a lead in it. This rules out most of what is on the market.
  • It has to survive a bag. If it leaks, snags, rattles or has to be packed carefully, it stays at home, and something that stays at home is useless.
  • It has to be safe in a dog's mouth. Food-grade materials on anything that touches water or a muzzle. No exceptions and no shortcuts.
  • The price has to be honest. One clear price, free delivery, and no invented "was" price with a line through it. If we ever discount, it is a real discount from a price we actually charged.

What we will not do

We will not tell you a parcel takes two days when it takes ten. Our delivery page gives you the real window, including the boring part, and we would rather lose the sale than win it with a date we miss.

We will not run a fake countdown timer, invent stock scarcity, or put a struck-through price next to something that has never sold for it.

We will not make a medical or veterinary claim about a plastic bottle. It carries water. That is the whole promise.

If we get it wrong

Thirty days to send anything back, and if it arrives faulty we cover the postage and replace it. You email a person, not a form, and you get a reply within one business day. Details are in the returns policy, written in English rather than legal boilerplate.
